Get the gear you need, when you need it 

We want you to have the best experience when using our kit. If you have any questions about our gear in relation to your trip, please get in touch we will happily talk you through all of the options available to you.

How the process works

1. Reserve

Find the kit you want to try and then reserve it for the period you need. You can keep hold of the gear for between 3 and 21 days. We will deliver it to you in reusable packaging before the start of your chosen rental period. Be sure to keep hold of the packaging for the return.

2. Use

You can use the gear wherever you like and enjoy testing it on mountains around the world.

3. Return

Return the gear to us at the end of the rental period using the reusable packaging your kit came in. You can return it to us for free at any Post Office.

4. Care

We will wash, inspect and service the kit ready for its next adventure.

  • When will my rental arrive?

Your rental will arrive 1-2 days before the start of your rental period.

  • Will my rental be a brand new or used product?

We use current season products that may have been used previously. All items returned to us are professionally cleaned and serviced by our in-house Rab Service Centre team. We do not rent product that is not fit for purpose.

  • How and when do I return my product?

The product must be returned to us the day after the end of the rental period. We supply a prepaid return label and re-usable packaging to make the return process as easy as possible. 

  • What if I am late returning my rental?

If we consider the return to be unreasonably late, we may charge a fee. Typically this will be charged at the day rate for your unreturned rental items.

  • What if my rental kit is dirty or damaged after use?

We will clean and repair all items returned to us free of charge as long as it is considered fair wear and tear.  In instances where the product has been damaged to the point we deem it cannot be re-rented, we reserve the right to charge a repair or replacement fee (this will not exceed your deposit amount)

  • What is "reasonable" use?

Our kit is designed to be used hard and we want you to have the best experience possible with our gear. Accidents happen, however, which may necessitate a lengthy repair or even make the product unusable again. In these instances, we will look at them on a case-by-case basis.

  • What if my rental product doesn’t fit?

We will always try and work with you to get the right product to you for your trip. If after looking at our size guides you are still unsure of sizing please contact us for assistance.

If when you receive the product it does not fit and we are unable to get a suitable replacement out to you in time, we will refund you for the item that does not fit.

  • What if an item I want to rent is out of stock?

If an item is out of stock and there isn't a suitable alternative in our rental range, please get in contact and we will see if we have suitable stock available elsewhere.

  • At the end of the rental period, can I buy the product?

This isn't something that we currently offer through our Rab Rental platform. However, if you love the product so much that you really cannot do without it, please contact us and we will see what we can do.

  • Can I extend my rental period?

Yes, if we have the product available we will happily extend your rental for you. The only time we may decline, is if the product has already been booked for another trip and we do not have any other stock available.

  • Do I need to clean before returning?

No. All kit is cleaned upon receipt by our in house Service Centre Team

  • Is rental available in the UK only?

Yes, although we hope to expand this globally

  • Can I pick up and drop off at a Rab Retailer?

Store pick up is not currently available, but is being looked at as a future option

  • When do I pay?

You pay for your rental immediately on booking. A deposit is payable 24 hours before the start of your rental and held on your payment card for the duration of your rental at 20% of the RRP of rented items.

  • Can I get a refund if I return early?

No, unfortunately not. We still need to cover our costs and it is unlikely we would be able to turn the product around in time to rent it out again.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel your rental with us any time up to 7 days before the rental start date. If you cancel within 7 days you may be charged 25% of your rental amount.
